CPU post-processing versus GPU

We used CPU post processing technology in our video player for some reasons and we preferred it to GPU after making a deep analysis.

Probably it would be easier for us to use GPU for the job, after all a Graphic card is intended to process graphic data, while a CPU is intended for generic data, but graphic cards got a problem for the user, they are expensive.

Our idea is to make a program accessible for everybody and easy to use, and that was the main reason to use CPU post processing, because we want to focus our product to everybody and not to make an exclusive DVD player which only works properly with a top-notch graphic card and the rest of the people will only get a fraction of the results.

EyeCare player uses an algorithm which will work in most computers with the usual processors and won’t need anything else. Furthermore it doesn’t load the processor too much and you can keep doing whatever you like while you are using it. We are very interested in knowing what people think about this and we are open to suggestions feedbacks from all of you.

I like your decision on CPU.

I like your decision on CPU. Notebooks also physically lack the option to choose or upgrade GPUs.
